| Major Achievements 2006-2007 |
- Awarded a 3 year contract to supply technical labour to BHP Billiton Olympic Dam site
South Australia.
- Contract awarded to
extensively
modify roller case bundle machines for Southern Cross Engineering-NZ for a new timber process plant located in Bell Bay Tasmania.
- Refurbishment of Electric
Furnace
at Olympic Dam within a critical timeframe. Repairs on electrodes were achieved within the allotted time frame with no running repairs required on completion.
- BLH were major contractors for the 2006 Olympic Dam Smelter Outage, utilising asset leader, supervisors and our experienced and skilled personnel of various trades. The reline and rebuild of both Anode
Furnace
3 and 4 were brought in ahead of schedule with zero injuries. Excellent results were achieved for the new Tee Plate procedure of anchoring refractory bricks during the reline stage. This was a first for this form of brickwork within Australia.
- Replacement and refurbishment of mechanical Electrostatic Precipitator (MESP) in the Olympic Dam Smelter Acid plant.
- Ongoing maintenance contracts with Temco BHP, Hydro Tasmania, Allstate and Boags Brewery.
- Workshop expansion and capitol equipment upgrade. A significant investment was made to expand the workshop facility with the latest machinery and technology to cater for our clients needs.
- Provide mechanical support for critical operating plant at Beaconsfield Gold Mine and Bell Bay Power Station Tasmania.
- ATEV Power Station; Supply tradesmen for construction stage and ongoing after its completed
- Van Diemen Aquaculture; Awarded 2 million dollars to Design and Fabricate floating fish pens and feed systems
- Temco BHP furnace rebuilds No 2 furnace supply supervision and tradesmen
- Temco BHP furnace 5 rebuild supply supervision project support and trades men
- Kalgoorlie Nickel west furnace rebuilds supply project coordinators - Trades men
- Olympic dam Anode furnace rebuilds 3-4- full crew including project management
